Why Families Trust Emily Kaiser, IBCLC
Emily Kaiser, MSW, RLC, IBCLC is the Owner and Founder of A Mother’s Village, a thriving private lactation practice based in Bowling Green, Kentucky. As an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) — the highest credential in the lactation field — Emily blends advanced clinical expertise with a background in social work and mental health. Her care style is evidence-based, trauma-informed, and deeply compassionate.
Families trust Emily for her warm presence, steady reassurance, and ability to make even the most overwhelming feeding challenges feel manageable. Her clinical expertise includes:
Functional oral assessments
Tongue- and lip-tie evaluation and pre/post-frenectomy care
Bottle refusal and complex feeding challenges
Low milk supply and oversupply
Pumping plans and precise flange fitting
Infant oral motor function and oral habilitation
Emily has supported thousands of families across South Central Kentucky and beyond, providing in-home, in-office, and virtual lactation care.
Emily earned her Master of Social Work (MSW) with a 4.0 GPA before opening her practice in 2020. That foundation shapes her approach today: every consultation centers the parent’s emotional wellbeing just as much as the baby’s feeding needs. She believes feeding support must be holistic, inclusive, judgment-free, and grounded in real-life practicality — because families thrive when they feel safe, supported, and genuinely understood.
Outside her clinical skillset, Emily brings something else into her work: lived experience. She has a complex medical history and knows firsthand how discouraging it can feel when the medical system overlooks or dismisses your concerns. That personal journey fuels her unwavering commitment to truly listening, validating, and advocating for the families she serves.
Emily is also a real human behind the scrubs and certifications — and her families often say that’s what makes her care so special. She is a proud Swiftie and will happily talk all things Taylor Swift if you let her. Taylor’s music has carried her through the highest highs and hardest lows of life, and continues to fill her cup daily. She’s also a lover of comfy clothes, cozy vibes, and a no-makeup (just skincare!) lifestyle, because caring for babies — and parents — is much easier when you show up as your authentic self.
Emily is a respected community leader. She founded the Feed + Nurture Donation & Financial Assistance Program, which provides free and reduced-cost lactation care and feeding supplies to families in need. She serves as a Board Member and Organizer for Bowling Green’s Promise Walk for Preeclampsia, has been recognized as a 2023 Hometown Hero, and was honored as a VIP Bowling Green “40 Under 40” for her leadership and impact in maternal-infant health.
In her professional community, Emily serves as the Secretary of the Kentuckiana Lactation Improvement Coalition (KLIC), helping advance lactation support and professional collaboration across the region. She maintains active membership in USLCA, IABLE, and KLIC, and pursues ongoing advanced training, including yearly participation in the GOLD Tongue-Tie Symposium and continuing education in oral function and infant feeding science.
Above all, Emily’s mission is simple: to make feeding feel calmer, clearer, and more connected for every family she serves — and to ensure parents feel genuinely seen, understood, and supported every step of the way.
